brain capital Tuition Financing Concept

In 2006, a new, innovative tuition financing concept was introduced at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Since its foundation in 2000, Bucerius Law School has offered a similar financing concept for its Bachelor of Laws program. Students participating in these models do not pay any tuition fees during their studies at WHU nor Bucerius Law School. However, they commit themselves to make income-dependent payments upon completion of their studies. The total amount of payments is linked to the income earned.
These payments enable students then studying to pursue their studies without a tuition fee burden. The capital required for bridge financing is mainly provided by Alumni. Hence, the “Elder“ finance the studies of the “Young“. This financing concept has thus become an important factor enabling students to study at these leading universities in all programs.

In the Bachelor programs of both universities, 20% of the student body finance their tuition fees this way.
